Handprint Heart Magnet (great for the younger kiddos!)

Materials: Red Washable Paint, White Card stock (preferably, or similar thick paper) or White building Paper, Paint Brush, Red Crayon, Sticky Back Magnet, Black Sharpie or Permanent Marker

1. Paint child's hands with red paint, or have them dip their hands in red paint.

2. Make child's handprints on the white paper. *Note: When doing the handprints, make the thumbs and index fingers meet-this forms a heart shape (upside down). It does not need to be a exquisite heart shape, just make sure to tilt the hands to make this shape.

3. Allow paint to dry.

4. Put the handprints upside down and feature the heart shape by drawing an figure of the thumb/index finger heart shape.

5. Write "Always hold on to my heart" within the heart shape or on the handprints with permanent marker

6. Cut nearby the handprints and stick a magnet on the back.

"Thumb"ody Love You photograph Frame

Materials: Popsicle Sticks, Wood or Hot Glue, Red Ink Pad or Red Paint, Child's Photo, Foam Heart Stickers or Candy Hearts, Poster Board or Thick Paper.

1. Glue child's photograph on a small quadrate piece of poster board. Please note: The photo needs to be cut down or small sufficient to fit within a popsicle stick frame (4 popsicle sticks development a square).

5. On the top (horizontal) popsicle stick, write ""Thumb"ody loves you...". On the bottom (horizontal) popsicle stick, write "That "thumb"ody is me!".

6. On the 4 corners of the popsicle stick frame, put heart stickers.

7. Glue popsicle stick frame onto photograph from earlier.

8. On the back of the poster board/photograph, write "Happy Valentine's Day 2011!"

1. Cut out a wide rectangle on the black building paper. (a traffic light shape)

2. Trace 3 equal circles onto the black traffic light.

3. Have child apply glue (a good amount) on the three light circles-one at a time.

4. Have the child glue red m & ms on top, yellow in the middle and green on the bottom and of procedure let the child snack on some m & ms too!

Supplies

  • Card stock or construction paper (any color but black)
  • Black tempera or poster paint (or even dark purple and red make a cool spider)
  • Paintbrush
  • Googly eyes
  • Glue

Directions

  1. Using the paint brush, fully cover your child's palm and four fingers. Don't paint the thumb. Use black paint or the color your child superior for their spider.
  2. Next have the kids press their hand firmly on the paper spreading their fingers slightly.
  3. Now paint their other hand all except the thumb.
  4. Have your child press that hand down on the paper, overlapping the first hand print and manufacture sure the fingers are over from the ones in the primary print. This will form the spider's body and 8 legs.

Easy Halloween Crafts - Three Fun and Easy Craft Ideas

Children of all ages love production crafts and homemade decorations for the holidays. With just a itsybitsy time, items you can find nearby the house, and some patience you can not only make a gorgeous memory with your child, but have some fun and easy Halloween crafts you can both be proud of! First, there are some handy items you should try to save for crafts. These are items that are very commonly used in crafts and decorations. Glass jars of all sizes, clean and empty milk cartons and jugs, tin cans, empty tissue boxes, toilet paper tubes, and Popsicle sticks. Having a good supply of these items will help when you are finding for activities for children. Three easy Halloween crafts that can be thrown together quickly include: Halloween toilet paper tube wreath, Bat Milk Carton treat holder, and Halloween luminaries.

The Halloween paper roll wreath is made from 14-16 toilet paper or kitchen towel cardboard tubes, a wire coat hanger, and orange and white construction paper. This is one of the simplest easy Halloween crafts available and children are proud to hang it on their doors! Bend the wire coat hanger into a circle. Oriented vertically, make a horizontal slit in the back of each card tube. Slide each onto the coat hanger. Then, cut pumpkin and ghost shapes from the construction paper and draw faces on them. Glue onto the toilet paper tubes, face them completely and hang!

Handprint Craft

The Bat milk carton treat owner is for children to carry nearby while trick or treating. They will be especially pleased to use it if they make it themselves! Take a clean and dry half gallon milk carton and cut off the top. Cover it completely with black construction paper using tape or glue.
